After 6 days, 407km, 31 hours cycling and almost 7,000m of climbing, the door closes on Chapter 1. From Los Antiguos in Argentina to Coyhaique in Chile, it’s been breathtakingly beautiful.
I want to say thank you for following along so far. Especially to those who went through the first drafts on Komoot. It makes me so happy to know that people are interested and continue to enjoy the writing.
I’ve made Chapter 1 into an easy to read PDF format that you can access below.
My natural tendency would be to do this trip in a low key manner. To publish few photos, and not send back much content. However, sharing the journey so far and the reaction from people back home has made me realise how much I’d like to show others the leap they too are capable of taking.
So, I have a challenge for you.
I challenge you to send this to that one young person you know that likes cycling. To that one young person you know who could do with a bit of inspiration. To that that one young person you know that is struggling to find something good to read.
I hope together we can help them to take a leap and try something new.
Just click the button below to share. You could even send them the all-in-one PDF for easier reading.
Secondly, thank you to my first two paid subscribers! One may be a blood relation but I’m still counting it.
I’ve spent over 100 hours writing, redrafting and constructing this blog so far.
So if you think the independent writing its worth £3.99 a month (about half a pint) then feel free to contribute. There will also soon be some bonus desires available to paid subscribers. More on that later.
Thirdly, I’d like to reccomend a brilliant article and piece of poetry I read today dealing with the passing of a loved one. There’s a short extract below.
I believe that it’s okay for poetry to have one context and exist in its own microcosm, never offering anything beyond its immediate confines. It doesn’t need to express anything outside of the finite time it sketches for itself; it can just breathe for as long as it needs to.
You won’t regret subscribing to this talented writer.
And finally, Chapter 2 will begin on Friday. In this chapter I will focus on the literary, film and musical influences that lead to this journey.
We’ll head to the fjords to get drenched beyond belief, climb a volcano, lose half a tent, and we’ll work out a way to solve the cilmate crisis within five years. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Hasta luego y gracias por su apoyo!
