Morning everyone,
A quick note to say that you can now listen to my Podcast appearance on Seek Travel Ride. STR is a dedicated cycle touring podcast that tackles transcontinental riders of every kind. From octogenarians to those who cycle with three teenagers and even some who view bike travel as a full time occupation. If you thought 12,000km was a long ride, you’ve got another think coming.
There are some fascinating tales to get stuck into, and Bella Molloy is a brilliant host. She favours in depth questions and conversations that twist and spiral until no stone is left unturned. I apologise in advance that my interview runs to 1hr 40m so I won’t insist you listen to it all. But you might find something in there that will spark your imagination, prompt you to sell everything you own that you can’t strap on a bike and leave behind a note on your desk at work saying,
‘Gone for a ride, back by 2025.’
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
You can follow Bella on Instagram @seektravelride or subscribe to her podcast here (or anywhere else you get your podcasts). Congratulations to Seek Travel Ride which has just turned 1-year-old. You could join the celebration with a follow and a listen today. My episode is linked here:
Bella will be guest writing on 10,000km Arriba later this week as she recounts her glorious journey over the many passes of a Trans-Pyrenees route last summer.
It was great to have the opportunity to retell the story verbally, but there’s more writing coming your way soon.
Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat looms large across the horizon. In fact, you won’t be able to think of anything else…
Hasta jueves,
Jack
Other podcast appearance
You can listen to a previous podcast on 10 Adventures here. My mum and I were interviewed by Richard on the topic of bikekpacking versus depression.

A few months ago I posted an article titled, Back to life, back to reality. It was my third guest writer post on 10,000km Arriba, and it was written by my mother. She explained how our 7-day cycle down the west coast of France changed her life. She had struggled with severe depression for four years, but on that journey, something changed for the better.

This is the first post of Guest Writers Season 2. Scroll to the bottom for the complete Season 1 list. In the summer of 1985 I graduated from the London College of Printing (LCP) with a BA in Art and Design. I greatly enjoyed the course, especially the complementary studies subjects where we did such stimulating topics as “The History of American Popular…
